Governors

Every school has a governing body made up of a team of volunteers both from within the school community and the outside community. They each bring a variety of skills, qualifications and experiences to collectively make objective, fair and well thought out decisions.

At Yorke Mead, the governing body currently comprises 14 members.

  • 6 Parent Governors elected by parents and carers of children at the school
  • 1 Staff Governor elected by members of staff at the school.
  • 1 Local Authority Governor appointed by the Local Authority
  • 7 co-opted Governors.

The Headteacher is automatically included.

There are currently two vacancies available for co-opted governors. Please contact the school office if you are interested in becoming a governor.
